This is me sitting down to tell you something honest and hopefully not too pretentious about my life.
I got married in July 2007, and have a Bachelor of Arts out of Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. It’s a mouthful, but it sounds nice, doesn’t it? We pull that name out for special occasions. I also spent a few semesters here and there. I own power tools and sewing machines. My husband seriously wants me to raise chickens in our back yard. (I said no, for now.) I'm your typical (typical?!?) over-educated and unemployable jacqueline-of-all-trades.
My husband and I have two mini dachshunds: half-brothers named Jake and Elwood, who are on a mission from God to make life cuter, and possibly stinkier. Also, we have a sun conure parrot; he was already named Sonny when we got him. He's terribly entertaining! We adopted him from what is now known as All Things Birdy. They no longer facilitate rescue adoptions but they still rock and completely deserve some free advertising.
Other things I feel inclined to tell you: I’m a devout, life-long insomniac and bibliophile. I have a variety of charming obsessions, such as proper use of the semicolon. I used to study costume design, and I sew some of my own clothes. I’m still an idealist, my husband says so. empressjolie thinks I’m pretty cool.
